Winners of 2021 Cornwall Farm Business Awards announced

The Cornwall Farm Business Awards 2021 was held for the first time in 18 months at the Royal Cornwall Showground Pavilion last Thursday, 30th September, and the celebrations mirrored the success of the farmers, who were the stars on the night.

Following the cancellation of the awards in 2020, we were keen to see the return of the event that we have hosted for the past 12 years, to recognise the hard work and dedication of farmers across Cornwall, who have worked relentlessly as always to bring high quality produce to our plates.

The Awards Ceremony raised nearly £2,000 for the Addington Fund through the raffle and auction lots alone. Although reduced numbers were in attendance, to recognise a respected easing of recent restrictions, there was a full house of nominees and our supporters were there, keen to raise a glass.

In the coming months, Farmers will be under further pressure and really need charities like the Addington Fund to have their back when needed.

We cannot thank enough, those who entered, nominated, supported, donated and took part in the Cornwall Farm Business Awards this year. From generous money donations to wonderful local food and produce donations, as they say, ‘every little helps’. As a result of such a successful event, we can continue to help farmers in need throughout Cornwall.

The charity is truly grateful to all of the sponsors that made the event possible and although these are hard times for many, their support for the us and recognition of the support that is offered to those in need across Cornwall’s agricultural community has not been pushed aside.

The principal sponsor for the evening, Cornish Mutual was pivotal in their contribution and CEO, Peter Beaumont reiterated this in his comments when he described how pleased Cornish Mutual was to be working alongside the 20 year established charity.
